Sea water: a challenge and an opportunity.
When using a katabatic tower in a desert or an arid land we will immediately face the problem of lack of the huge amount of water required in such dry places. Often the only water available in high quantities will be sea water. Sea water is a challenge because when falling on the soil it is a strong contaminant and can destroy the fertility of the lands. In this chapter we are going to see how we can transform this challenge into an opportunity. We will proceed in three steps. We will start with 1 cubic meter of sea water and analyse its properties. In a second step we will divide this cubic meter of seawater into little drops similar to the drops of rain. Finally, we will make a further subdivision into very tiny droplets of some microns of diameter.
